Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in janitorial service industry or 2 years experience in building maintenance or 4 years experience in housekeeping industry
  • Experience working in a school environment preferred but not required
  • Experience with quality control checks
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical instructions
  • Ability to respond to and resolve common complaints
  • Ability to effectively present information to campus and central office management
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English effectively
  • Basic Spanish speaking skills required, fluency preferred
  • Above average knowledge in Microsoft Office applications chiefly Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and use computer software to track and report budget for facilities
  • Ability to use basic office equipment
  • Ability to learn how to operate a burglar alarm
  • Ability to use a smartphone with email applications

Job Duties

  • Ensure that all campus facilities and grounds are properly maintained
  • Direct and monitor the work of custodians at assigned campus
  • Help to screen, select, and train custodians
  • Direct, schedule, and assist in setting up facilities for special events
  • Provide on-the-job training to campus custodians on proper cleaning techniques and track the completion progress of online training for the team
  • Provide planning partnership in preparation for campus custodian vacations and days off
  • Assume responsibility for closing buildings each school day by setting the burglar alarm at the end of day
