Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food service management or related field
  • Ability to stand, lift, reach and perform physical tasks including lifting items up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, 172 days annually
  • ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Knowledge of USDA and Colorado Department of Education regulations
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to manage staff and work cooperatively with others
  • Willingness to complete mandatory ongoing training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of food safety and HACCP practices
  • Experience in supervising and training staff
  • Ability to manage financial records and inventory
  • Leadership and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle confidential employee issues professionally

Job Duties

  • Manage overall kitchen operations including food preparation and service
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff including up to 4 kitchen assistants
  • Maintain kitchen financial records and ensure accurate cash handling
  • Monitor compliance with school food service regulations and provide sustainable solutions
  • Oversee sanitation, cleaning, and health inspections of kitchen facilities
  • Manage inventory control and place orders by deadlines
  • Handle employee issues with discretion, manage performance and maintain staffing
  • Ensure accurate payroll approval and manage employee time off
  • Maintain production management, reduce waste and control theft
  • Complete USDA mandatory training and ensure staff compliance
