Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service management or related field
- Ability to stand, lift, reach and perform physical tasks including lifting items up to 40 lbs
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, 172 days annually
- ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of USDA and Colorado Department of Education regulations
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to manage staff and work cooperatively with others
- Willingness to complete mandatory ongoing training
Job Qualifications

- ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of food safety and HACCP practices
- Experience in supervising and training staff
- Ability to manage financial records and inventory
- Leadership and critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle confidential employee issues professionally
Job Duties
- Manage overall kitchen operations including food preparation and service
- Supervise and train kitchen staff including up to 4 kitchen assistants
- Maintain kitchen financial records and ensure accurate cash handling
- Monitor compliance with school food service regulations and provide sustainable solutions
- Oversee sanitation, cleaning, and health inspections of kitchen facilities
- Manage inventory control and place orders by deadlines
- Handle employee issues with discretion, manage performance and maintain staffing
- Ensure accurate payroll approval and manage employee time off
- Maintain production management, reduce waste and control theft
- Complete USDA mandatory training and ensure staff compliance
