Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of kitchen manager, head chef, or sous chef experience
- Experience leading teams of more than 5 people
- Skilled in making schedules and using labor templates
- 4 or more years of kitchen experience
- History of growth in previous positions
- Keen palate for food quality
- Demonstrated ability to train and grow leaders
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities
- Ability to plan and prioritize workload
- Ability to manage operations independently
Job Duties
- Hire, onboard, and oversee the prep team
- Stage, onboard, train, and maintain capable prep captains
- Develop Sages with high standards and desire to learn
- Use prep path tool to track team progress
- Consistently coach and develop team members
- Take ownership of prep and purchasing operations
- Ensure quality control by tasting and checking all orders
- Use fabrication model to assure full stocking and proper prep
- Uphold daily deep cleans and train clean as you go style
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and audit space
- Manage purchasing and labor to optimize product availability and staffing
- Develop team for operational efficiency
- Follow purchase system and use declining budget to inventory properly
- Manage schedules within labor template
