Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years experience in a kitchen supervisory role
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong leadership abilities
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage inventory and control food costs
  • basic computer skills
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items

Job Duties

  • Supervising and overseeing the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures
  • enforces compliance with employment policies and oversees restaurant cleanliness and guest safety
  • directs productivity to monitor and maintain efficient and effective food item ticket times
  • manages performance of Back of House employees, including conducting performance evaluations, coaching, and discipline
  • assists with the development of all key employees by providing daily feedback during one-on-ones
  • conducts formal line taste and temperature checks as part of inventory and safety responsibilities
  • oversees proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all items
  • understands, manages, and practices safe food handling procedures
  • manages food costs, tracks waste, and controls kitchen labor costs
  • directs work for Back of House employees including setting hours, weekly schedules, and assigning tasks
  • trains Back of House employees on equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures
  • reviews applications, interviews, and makes hiring recommendations for Back of House positions
  • creates a safe, fun, and clean work environment consistent with company core values and operational goals
