West River Head Start located in Mandan, North Dakota, is a vital community organization dedicated to providing early childhood education and support services to children and their families. Job Requirements
- Must be highly dependable and self-motivated
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to effectively speak, read, and understand English
- Must be able to start early in the day
- Ability to manage diverse tasks including food service and custodial duties
- Ability to safely perform light snow shoveling and outdoor maintenance

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in food service or commercial kitchen preferred
- Ability to follow Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines
- Strong organizational skills for inventory and supply management
- Ability to work independently and multitask efficiently
- Valid driver’s license
- Effective communication skills in English
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve simple breakfast meals daily
- Receive and dish family-style catered lunches for classroom service
- Wash dishes and clean, organize kitchen equipment, refrigerators, freezers, pantry, and cabinets daily
- Compile grocery and supply lists, shop, order, and put away deliveries
- Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures every day
- Mop, sweep, and clean hallways, gymnasium, bathrooms, meeting rooms, and main office
- Empty trash receptacles in bathrooms, gym, and kitchen
- Clean Head Start vehicles including buses, car, and truck and submit mileage reports
- Perform daily playground safety checks, sweep steps, and conduct light snow shoveling and de-icing
- Change furnace filters and empty dehumidifiers in the basement
