Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- strong team leadership
- previous experience in food service preparation, preferably in a school or institutional setting
- Serve Safe certified preferred or willing to take the course
- excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- proficiency in using kitchen equipment and technology
- ability to work well with students, staff, and parents
- must pass background checks and health screening as required by the law
- ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional evenings and weekends
- willing to take additional classes in school nutrition offered by SNAM
- creativity and a collaborative spirit

Job Duties
- Participate in ongoing training on food safety and operational procedures
- collaborate with the Food Service Manager to plan and prepare balanced, nutritious menus that meet dietary guidelines
- ensure meals are prepared in accordance with standardized recipes and portion sizes
- prepare special dietary needs and accommodate food allergies or preferences
- assist in inventory control, including ordering, receiving and storing food and supplies
- ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food
- maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- prepare daily food production records
- perform other duties as assigned
