Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years of culinary leadership experience
  • flexible availability for afternoon and night shifts
  • ability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling regulations
  • ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
  • positive team-focused attitude
  • ability to follow policies and procedures
  • hotel and union management experience is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of previous culinary leadership experience
  • knowledge of food preparation and kitchen management
  • experience with menu planning and development
  • strong communication and team leadership skills
  • ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • prior experience in a hotel or union environment is a plus
  • commitment to upholding safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations
  • create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events
  • ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • assist in monitoring and developing team member performance including supervision, counseling, evaluations, training, scheduling and assigning work
  • maintain food quality and presentation standards
  • implement cost controls and help ensure overall financial profitability
  • enforce safety and sanitation standards
