Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years culinary experience in fast paced kitchen
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar position with prior experience in managing team members
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required
  • Ability to maintain any health department requirements and alcohol requirements by the state and/or county
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to obtain a national recognized sanitation training achievement
  • Ability to positively interact with diverse personalities
  • Must have active listening and effective communication skills
  • Ability to develop results-oriented staff through effective training, evaluation, motivation, coaching and counseling
  • Ability to recognize problems and creatively find solutions
  • Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to set priorities and use initiative

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and administrative tasks including food inventories and ordering
  • Organize employee work schedules and ensure appropriate kitchen coverage
  • Assist in completion of employee schedules and attendance documentation within budgeted expectations
  • Provide ongoing assistance, training, and mentoring to kitchen staff
  • Promote a positive and cooperative workplace environment by working alongside staff
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and concept standards are maintained
  • Monitor food preparation to meet recipe specifications, portion controls, and kitchen timings
  • Oversee food appearance, temperature, sanitation, and quality standards
  • Ensure workplace safety, sanitation, and health standards are maintained
  • Support Executive Chef in planning and completing events and services
  • Assist in inventory control and monitor menu planning, execution, and product rotation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
