Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of apprenticeship training in plumbing trade
  • Five years of experience as journey-level plumber
  • Valid Montana plumbing license required at hire
  • Valid Montana driver’s license or ability to obtain
  • Knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, and materials
  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems
  • Strong physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work in various postures
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Pass criminal background investigation
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Complete required physical screen
  • Six months probationary period

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of apprenticeship training in plumbing trade
  • Five years of journey-level plumbing experience
  • Valid Montana plumbing license or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Valid Montana driver’s license or ability to obtain
  • Experience in standard plumbing practices and use of tools
  • Knowledge of drain, waste, vent systems, water piping, plumbing fixtures and appliances
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Preferred knowledge in pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and mechanical construction
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Experience with various plumbing materials and techniques including soldering and welding
  • Ability to estimate plumbing work costs

Job Duties

  • Perform day-to-day plumbing repairs and installations for residence halls and apartments
  • Research, order, and install plumbing materials
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle multiple priorities
  • Collaborate with other trades to complete work orders and projects
  • Maintain and replace plumbing fixtures and appliances including water heaters, pumps, sinks, and faucets
  • Operate and maintain steam heating systems in residence halls
  • Repair and replace drain lines, water supply lines including cast iron, PVC, PEX, copper, and galvanized pipes
