Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years experience in managerial housekeeping role at a full-service hotel
- Or 6 years of line level experience in housekeeping department
- Prior Marriott or full-service hotel brand experience preferred
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and bending
- Ability to follow safety policies and procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Availability to work flexible hours
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years experience in housekeeping management in a full-service hotel
- 6 years line level experience in all aspects of housekeeping can substitute
- Prior experience in Marriott Hotels or full-service hotel brands preferred
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, safety standards, and hotel procedures
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to train and develop team members
- Budget and cost management experience
- Familiarity with Marriott housekeeping systems and standards.
Job Duties
- Manage daily housekeeping operations including cleanliness and quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
- Obtain lists of vacant rooms for immediate cleaning and prospective checkouts to assign work
- Advise Front Office Manager and Guest Service Agents when rooms are ready for occupancy
- Assign housekeeping attendants their duties and inspect work for cleanliness standards
- Ensure all team members follow safety procedures and take corrective safety actions
- Manage Marriott Housekeeping systems, cost controls, budgeting, forecasting and profitability
- Inspect rooms, corridors, lobby, and meeting spaces for repairs and make recommendations
- Ensure guestroom security and proper key control procedures
- Oversee hotel laundry operations
- Supervise team members' performance, conduct training, evaluations, counseling and recognition
- Record work assignments, personnel actions, timesheets and prepare periodic reports including occupancy and payroll expenses
- Control housekeeping department expenses
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
- Welcome guests and assist individuals with disabilities
- Develop positive working relationships with all associates
- Ensure adherence to Stamford Marriott quality standards
- Perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, twisting, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
