Job Duties

  • perform complete cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, corridors, public rooms, offices and other designated areas as needed
  • change cubicle curtains
  • execute daily cleaning, room turnover cleaning and terminal cleaning of specialty areas including Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, LDRP, NICU, CCN, WETU
  • greet and interact with patients and customers using designated scripting
  • maintain high levels of flexibility, organization and prioritize work
  • collaborate with co-workers and unit staff in a team environment
  • adhere to health, safety attendance requirements and department policies
  • perform daily responsibilities with minimal supervision following duty lists
  • manage contaminated patient care equipment and supplies using standard precautions including hand hygiene, sharps safety and personal protective equipment
  • conduct daily terminal cleaning and maintain log books
  • utilize UV-C disinfection technology
  • clean and disinfect all horizontal and vertical surfaces, equipment and furniture
  • properly remove municipal solid waste, regulated medical waste, soiled linen, and recyclables
  • perform high and low dusting and apply finish or polish to wood and steel surfaces
  • clean floors, baseboards, corners and edges daily
  • break down, clean and disinfect specialty equipment such as operating tables
  • move rolling stock such as stretchers and beds as needed
  • maintain pace in high intensity units
  • perform other departmental duties as required
