Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hotel management
  • Proven track record of successful hotel operations
  • Strong knowledge of budget controls and financial management
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to implement and monitor sales and marketing strategies
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment regulations
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to engage with community and corporate stakeholders
  • Proficiency in hotel management software

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Proven experience as a hotel general manager or in a similar leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability in budget management and financial reporting
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience developing and implementing sales and marketing plans
  • Proficient in operational software and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of employment laws and compliance
  • Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Maximize hotel financial performance by providing high-quality guest service and product
  • Foster a positive work environment for all employees
  • Develop and implement an aggressive sales and marketing plan
  • Supervise and develop performance of all operating departments including front office, guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage, security, and maintenance
  • Meet or exceed hotel budgetary guidelines
  • Write and review operational reports including occupancy, yield management, payroll, and accounting
  • Interview, hire, coach, and counsel department managers
  • Monitor staff adherence to policies and procedures
  • Conduct daily property inspections
  • Participate in community affairs
  • Communicate effectively with corporate staff and property owners
  • Develop and supervise programs promoting positive work environment and legal compliance
  • Plan weekly operating staffing and cost expenditures
  • Develop action plans to maximize occupancy and average rate
  • Ensure regular maintenance and upkeep of hotel facilities
  • Promote high employee morale and loyalty to reduce turnover
  • Establish guest service standards and identify corrective actions
