Job Requirements

  • Proof of liquor license or receipt of application by first day
  • Ability to work full-time hours
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • Good physical stamina to walk and perform minimal lifting
  • Ability to work under supervision and follow procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Availability to comply with health and safety regulations
  • Willingness to work in a restaurant environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hospitality industry principles for quality dining experiences
  • Ability to schedule and coordinate guest flow
  • Basic math skills for computing charges and adjustments
  • Memorization skills to recognize and greet regular guests
  • Knowledge of proper guest greeting methods and avoiding undue familiarity
  • Understanding of public health requirements including handwashing and contamination control
  • Knowledge of local demographics and Citizen Potawatomi Nation history
  • Familiarity with resort amenities
  • Professional grooming, hygiene, and dress standards
  • Excellent public relations and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and patience in busy environments

Job Duties

  • Graciously greet and welcome guests and customers
  • Minimize confusion and disorderly sequence of guests being seated and served
  • Enforce the chronological reception of guests and customers
  • Ensure tables and dining areas are properly arranged and cleaned
  • Revisit tables to ensure appropriate attention and service from wait staff
  • Coordinate reservations when required
  • Provide information about the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Casino, Restaurant, Hotel, Shops, directions, and activity schedules
  • Ensure wait staff are courteous and professional
  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude
  • Open the front door for guests when possible
  • Record guest names and party size when seating is limited
  • Call out names and party numbers when tables become available
  • Provide estimated waiting times
  • Accommodate special seating requests
  • Seat guests based on preferences and service flow
  • Offer menus and inform guests of their server’s name
  • Inspect tables for presentation and completeness
  • Relay messages between servers and bus persons
  • Thank guests and invite them to return
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
