We are currently seeking a Host/Hostess to join our team. This role is pivotal in creating the first and last impressions of our restaurant, engaging guests with warmth and professionalism from the moment they arrive until they leave. The main responsibility of the host/hostess is to greet guests pleasantly and seat them promptly, managing the flow and organization of dining room activities. Duties include presenting menus, managing wait lists, organizing the floor plan, and coordinating reservation and call-ahead lists alongside management. Additionally, the host/hostess handles guest inquiries about the menu and the restaurant, ensuring guests feel informed and welcomed even before their server arrives.
This position requires excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The host/hostess should demonstrate superb organizational capabilities and strong reading and writing skills to manage wait times and guest lists effectively. Physically, the role demands the ability to stand throughout the shift, frequently bend, reach, stoop, and occasionally carry up to 15 pounds. Educationally, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and while prior restaurant experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
