Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ohio driver’s license as required by hospital policy
- Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital
- Proof of auto insurance
- Ability to handle physical requirements including lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Availability to work rotating holidays and weekends
- Ability to work as needed/on call
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to safely operate hospital provided vehicles
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to use hospital provided cell phone and communication tracking system
- Experience in driving and route management preferred
- Knowledge of safety protocols and hospital guidelines
Job Duties
- Maintains schedule to complete routine and on-demand routes daily
- Handles pick-ups and deliveries from lab, pharmacy, homecare, referring hospitals, clinics, physician offices and outpatient centers
- Documents all route information and pick-ups per department guidelines
- Evaluates and monitors weather conditions throughout shift to preplan for anticipated trips and delays throughout region
- Maintains safety of cargo and vehicle in accordance with hospital guidelines
- Assists in training of new staff and documents their progress per department guidelines
- Provides customer service in an efficient and effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction and quality patient care
