Job Requirements

  • At least 5-6 years of progressive hotel experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Willingness to work long hours
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Multitasking and prioritizing skills
  • Attendance at required meetings and trainings
  • Participation in M.O.D. coverage

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5-6 years progressive experience in the hotel industry
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top ten accounts and hosting client events
  • Tour operating departments daily and make adjustments as necessary through department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions following Highgate Hotel standards
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs timely
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and proper accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency and corporate training
  • Participate in scheduled M.O.D. coverage
  • Monitor and develop management trainees
  • Adhere to Highgate Hotel policies and train new managers
  • Assist in the hotel budget process
  • Ensure regular training in service standards and compliance with Garden Standard of the Week
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment focused on guest satisfaction
  • Inspect rooms weekly with housekeeping and engineering managers
  • Oversee daily invoice processing
  • Ensure timely submission of financial documentation to corporate office
  • Maintain cleanliness and preventive maintenance of property
  • Ensure employees exhibit attentive, friendly, courteous service
  • Forecast hotel financial position monthly with accurate revenue and expense analysis
  • Conduct management interviews and oversee hiring procedures
  • Perform and ensure compliance with performance appraisals
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline management staff per company SOPs
  • Perform other duties as requested by senior management
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees
  • Engage with clients on property to assist sales
  • Be present in public areas during peak times to assist guests
  • Oversee hotel safe security and monthly audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and enforce credit and collection policies
