Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years old
  • valid Class B driver’s license with P endorsement
  • completion of route training
  • able to read, speak, and understand English
  • ability to perform basic math functions
  • comply with DOT regulations and company substance abuse policies
  • maintain current and valid DOT documentation
  • must be physically able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • able to perform stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • flexible to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • capable of working under deadlines and pressure
  • have a clean and neat appearance
  • maintain uniform and required IDs
  • able to communicate clearly and professionally
  • adhere to safety protocols and handle emergencies
  • no supervisory responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 years old
  • possesses valid Class B driver’s license with P endorsement
  • completion of training for various routes
  • ability to read, speak, and understand English
  • ability to perform simple math functions such as counting, adding, and subtracting
  • complies with DOT substance abuse and alcohol testing regulations
  • maintains valid DOT documentation
  • demonstrates professionalism and courteousness in customer interactions
  • adheres to company values and safety standards
  • ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • able to handle complex issues involving people
  • has good command of English to communicate with DOT examiners and announce stops and points of interest

Job Duties

  • Obtain appropriate documents to meet DOT regulations and maintain driver eligibility
  • perform duties of a driver with professionalism and courteous customer service
  • present a neat and clean appearance
  • deal with passengers in a non-discriminatory and controlled manner, especially in emergencies
  • communicate guidelines and provide narrations and announcements clearly and friendly
  • conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and complete driver inspection reports
  • report vehicle problems to maintenance
  • be responsible for fueling and recording fuel usage
  • notify dispatch of any changes to routes or schedules
  • ensure Syncromatics system operates properly and report discrepancies
  • prepare daily and monthly passes
  • maintain uniform and wear required IDs
  • assist passengers needing special assistance and secure wheelchairs
  • pick up and drop off passengers efficiently
  • report passenger counts and changes to dispatcher
  • provide transportation to and from destinations
  • keep accurate passenger counts on systems and paperwork
  • conduct post-trip inspections
  • refuel vehicles when needed
  • complete all required paperwork
  • fill out vehicle accident reports and follow company policies after accidents
  • complete trip sheets and submit paperwork
  • perform other related duties as assigned or requested
