Job Requirements

  • Three plus years of professional culinary experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
  • one plus years of supervisory or management experience
  • demonstrated knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • comfortable using software, apps, and spreadsheets
  • excellent communication skills
  • highly organized
  • passion for improving nutrition and health in schools
  • ServeSafe certification required within 90 days of hire

Job Qualifications

  • Three plus years professional culinary experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
  • one plus years supervisory or management experience
  • bachelor degree in culinary arts a plus
  • demonstrated knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to use software, apps, and spreadsheets to track and report data
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • familiarity with NSLP compliance requirements a plus
  • passion for improving nutrition and health in schools
  • bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
  • ServeSafe certification required within 90 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Direct daily culinary execution
  • maintain a food-safe kitchen at all times
  • perform quality control on menu items and ensure recipe consistency
  • improve food costs through inventory management and menu planning
  • train, coach, and develop kitchen team members
  • create a supportive team environment to encourage cohesion and retention
  • adhere to production schedules and track daily compliance
  • oversee facility maintenance projects
  • build relationships with school community including teachers, administrators, and parents
  • represent the company at school meetings
  • provide culinary and nutrition education presentations
