Job Requirements
- 3+ years in professional kitchen or catering experience
- culinary degree preferred
- valid manager level sanitation certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- ability to work well in a team environment
- excellent communication skills
- ability to maintain kitchen sanitation and food safety
- capability to manage kitchen staff and schedules
- ability to handle a fast-paced, busy kitchen environment
- physical ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 50 pounds
- willingness to work occasional special events
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years in professional, high-volume food production or catering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- culinary degree is a plus
- valid manager level sanitation certification or obtain within 30 days of employment
- ability to work well as part of a team
- proficiency in various cooking methods, cuisines, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- demonstrate professional appearance and positive attitude
- maintain excellent record of kitchen and staff management
- exhibit accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations
- familiarity with industry best practices
Job Duties
- Prepare, design, and execute menus
- conduct menu meetings with chapters
- create high-quality meals with excellent presentation and flavor
- send photos of meal presentations to management regularly
- maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room
- wash kitchen utensils, equipment, and dishes
- ensure the kitchen operates in a timely manner
- oversee and train kitchen staff, manage schedules, and assess performance with management approval
- order supplies according to budget and stock inventory
- enforce sanitation and food safety standards per regulations
- maintain a professional and positive attitude with coworkers and customers
- assist in planning and executing special events
- communicate regularly with management
- ensure compliance with company policies among staff
