Job Requirements
- Must have dependable vehicle to deliver packages and make pickups
- Must have previous management experience
- Availability required for evening pickups
- Be willing to adapt to new situations
- Capable of using computers for routing and payroll purposes
- Familiar with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years management experience preferred
- 2-3 years logistics experience preferred
- Self-motivated and resourceful
- Able to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to effectively problem solve
- Self-directed and able to meet deadlines
- Comfortable and knowledgeable with technology and computers
- Familiar with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Job Duties
- Manages daily dispatch and interface of assigned drivers
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, and coaching new drivers and staff
- Oversees routing, sorting, operations loading and unloading of freight, customer service, and facilities management
- Delivers and picks up packages daily
- Creates and updates driver notes in Ameriship’s system ensuring accuracy and validity of delivery-related information
- Drives consistent operational performance focusing on service and cost
- Monitors misdeliveries and develops avoidance strategies
- Manages general office duties including mailing, supplies, and errands
- Forecasts workload for 2-3 days out
- Leads and manages hourly personnel and contractors
- Manages resources to cover staff absence and workload capabilities
- Handles disciplinary issues as per company policies
- Schedules and directs drivers to maximize profitability based on cost options
- Maintains high accuracy and consistency of data in the system
- Creates and assigns work schedules maintaining proper staffing based on freight volumes
