Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4-6 years experience in a family, fast-food, or casual dining restaurant preferred
  • Prior experience in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift
  • Capability to push, lift, carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and use hands for handling objects
  • Verbal communication skills
  • Ability to see close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision
  • Ability to adjust focus
  • Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts
  • Adherence to state-mandated alcohol service age requirements where applicable

Job Duties

  • Manage daily restaurant operations and staff according to company policies and laws
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train employees
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Appraise employee performance
  • Reward and discipline employees including termination when necessary
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Shape restaurant culture and ensure high employee engagement
  • Coach and mentor team members to ensure success and guest satisfaction
  • Model professional, warm, and hospitable behavior
  • Communicate sales performance and anticipated variances
  • Cascade corporate programs and initiatives to management and staff
  • Assist team members as needed with job duties
  • Champion sales building activities and suggestive selling
  • Maximize table turnover, sales per guest, and sales per hour
  • Meet and greet guests and resolve food quality or service issues
  • Maintain efficient operations and appropriate cost controls
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local health and safety codes, and company safety policies
  • Enforce safe work behaviors
  • Monitor daily activities to ensure quality food and cleanliness standards
  • Control cash handling, inventory, food and labor management
  • Manage P&L including food, labor, and controllable costs
  • Control food costs through recipe and portion control and weekly inventory
  • Optimize labor costs with scheduling tools and monitoring
  • Ensure proper use of restaurant equipment
  • Maintain facility and assets
  • Perform other duties as assigned
