Job Requirements

  • At least a high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year pastry chef experience in a fine dining or high-volume kitchen
  • proficiency in culinary methods and standards
  • strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • ability to work onsite full-time
  • capability to use kitchen equipment and tools
  • prior culinary management experience
  • ability to analyze and manage financial data

Job Qualifications

  • At least one years' prior pastry chef experience in a fine dining, quality and high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
  • working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards
  • excellent attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment
  • ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools as well as identify and differentiate food items
  • previous culinary management experience
  • ability to understand, interpret and manage financial data
  • food handlers' certification (nice to have)

Job Duties

  • Develop creative menus in accordance with consumer tastes, nutritional needs, ease of preparation and established procedures and budgetary constraints
  • participate in menu planning activities including purchasing specifications, product and recipe testing and menu development
  • maintain proper production, safety and sanitation standards
  • direct and participate in daily preparation of standard and gourmet food items
  • evaluate quality of raw food and ensure quality of finished products
  • inspect assigned units to observe quality of food preparation and service, food appearance, and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas, equipment and employee appearance
  • maintain proper inventory controls for food, supplies, and equipment
  • interview, select, train and evaluate supervisory and support staff
  • ensure the highest level of customer service
  • perform other duties as assigned
