Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- basic math skills for portioning and measurements
Job Duties
- Prepares cooking items
- reports to work well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform and practices good personal hygiene
- uses, maintains and cleans all kitchen equipment and preparation and storage areas
- stocks and rotates products to ensure shelf life standards
- ensures correct portioning, quality and cooking time according to recipes
- prepares items following food safety and sanitation procedures
- controls food cost by accurate portioning
- utilizes FIFO (first in first out) standards
- maintains cleanliness of kitchen, prep areas, coolers and storage
- follows safety procedures regarding food handling and storage
- conducts line sweeps
- practices clean as you go
- understands OSHA and health department standards
- cleans equipment and other areas as directed
- anticipates, identifies and resolves system breakdowns
- communicates with Manager on Duty and coworkers about deficiencies and issues
- informs General Manager and proposes solutions
- assists team members with prep
- assists dishwasher with washing and restocking
- helps maintain dining room cleanliness
- provides guest service by cooperating with front of house staff
