Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral, written, and computer skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience with medical office software is a plus but not required

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Familiarity with health insurance terminology preferred
  • Prior exposure or experience with EMR software preferred

Job Duties

  • Greeting patients warmly upon check-in
  • managing scheduling and keeping appointments on time by notifying therapists upon patient arrival
  • Keeping patients informed of how to navigate the physical therapy experience including what to expect during visits and their financial responsibilities
  • Verifying insurance benefits and checking for authorizations and pre-certifications prior to patient visits
  • Tracking, managing and resolving insurance issues and denials for the office
  • Maintaining patient accounts in the EMR system by updating information such as authorizations and prescriptions
  • Answering phone calls, email inquiries, and faxes
  • Assisting with record retrieval
  • Performing general office duties
