Job Requirements
- Class A CDL license or Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment
- Ability to pass motor vehicle record screen as per company requirements
- Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Compliance with Department of Transportation and CDL regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement
- Ability to obtain required sales-related licensure or registration
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment is preferred
- Prior experience driving semi-trucks or trailers considered an asset
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations
- Familiarity with safety protocols and equipment operation
Job Duties
- Provide SMART customer service through daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs
- Seek out customers to understand needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Listen and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, walking them through projects when necessary
- Demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers
- Communicate information regarding stock, special order merchandise, benefits, applications, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs
- Contact customers regarding delivery or coordinate with truck driver
- Plan delivery activities, print loading tickets, and deliver merchandise on schedule
- Pull merchandise, build and band delivery loads, and load trucks within payload according to delivery order
- Inspect products' condition before loading or assisting customer with loading
- Match items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers
- Ensure loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation regulations
- Update delivery and route status on system for tracking
- Unload, install, and test appliances upon delivery
- Verify daily vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs of delivery vehicles and equipment
- Complete Department of Transportation reporting to maintain certification and CDL compliance
- Detect signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks, and communicate promptly to management or Asset Protection
- Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and maintain cleanliness and organization of store and work areas
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment and adhere to all safety requirements relevant to job duties
- Operate store equipment as needed depending on department
- Perform other duties as assigned
