Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Commitment to unparalleled customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to participate in training and team orientation
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and with distractions
- Demonstrated patience when interacting with associates and customers
- Ability to read and comprehend simple and short English instructions and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence in English
- Ability to communicate effectively in English one-on-one and in small group situations
- Computer knowledge including Harris Teeter Internet software, email, inventory software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software
- Ability to perform basic math operations related to money and weight/volume/distance measurements
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions
- Completion of company training programs including new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and department manager training
- Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 60 pounds
- Required vision abilities including close vision, color and depth perception
- Ability to work frequently in wet/humid conditions and around moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes, chemicals, extreme cold
- Able to work in moderate noise levels

Job Duties
- Take excellent care of customers by satisfying their needs and exceeding expectations
- Assist in managing and supervising up to 80 associates
- Perform various duties including baker, fryer, cake decorator, Fresh Foods clerks, and chef roles
- Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work of associates
- Appraise associate performance and participate in rewarding and disciplining
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Cooperate with fellow associates to enhance customer satisfaction and department performance
