Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
  • supervisory experience required
  • proficiency in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • valid driver's license
  • clear communication skills
  • ability to evaluate and make decisions quickly and accurately
  • ability to work well under stressful, high-pressure situations
  • maintain composure and objectivity
  • effective problem-handling skills
  • ability to assimilate and adjust complex information
  • effective listening and clarification
  • ability to work with financial data and basic arithmetic.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Respond to all guest requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents presented at the Front Desk or through Reservations in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner
  • motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Front Desk personnel according to Avion Hospitality SOP's
  • ensure compliance to brand and company training, using the steps to effective training according to Avion Hospitality standards
  • prepare and conduct all Front Desk interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • conduct all 90 day and annual Front Desk employee performance appraisals
  • develop employee morale and ensure training of Front Desk personnel
  • maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily
  • attend all required Rooms Merchandizing meetings with appropriate reports
  • supervise the Night Audit function and monitor House Charge Worksheet and Flash Report for accuracy
  • participate in required MOD program as scheduled
  • develop and assist assigned managers as directed by Corporate Office
  • ensure all end-of-the-month report dates are met
  • review Front Desk staff worked hours for payroll and submit to Accounting timely
  • prepare employee schedules according to business forecast and payroll budget
  • ensure no-show revenue is maximized
  • maintain SOP compliance regarding Purchase Orders, vouchering and checkbook accounting
  • ensure timely completion of Wage Progress, Productivity, and Ten Day Forecast according to SOPs
  • maintain professional relationships and promote open communication across departments
  • coordinate with Accounting on follow-up items
  • operate Front Office computer system and monitor PBX console
  • monitor reservations process and maintain courtesy and upselling techniques
  • greet and welcome all guests according to SOPs
  • enforce hotel credit policies
  • handle guest laundry as required
  • maintain Lost and Found procedures
  • establish and maintain key control system
  • focus Front Desk on contributing to guest service scores
  • monitor VIPs, special guests and requests
  • maintain pars of all front office and stationary supplies
  • review daily Front Office work and activity reports
  • assist in emergency procedures
  • be familiar with corporate-sponsored programs
  • maintain organized and comprehensive filing systems
  • conduct meetings as required
  • perform other duties as assigned.
