Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred

  • Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented and problem solve effectively

  • Ability to quickly and accurately evaluate and select courses of action
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations

  • Ability to work with and understand financial data and perform basic arithmetic
  • Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions and short correspondence
  • Ability to use logic to define problems, collect information and make conclusions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to work varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Understanding of hotel products and guest services
  • Ability to create an enjoyable work environment

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Avion Hospitality standards
  • Comply at all times with Avion Hospitality policies, standards and regulations
  • Greet and welcome all guests approaching the Front Desk
  • Maintain proper operation of the telephone switchboard
  • Handle requests for information, mail and messages efficiently and courteously
  • Answer guest inquiries about hotel service, facilities and hours
  • Answer inquiries from guests regarding restaurants, transportation and entertainment
  • Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow associates and other departments
  • Be aware of all rates, packages and special promotions
  • Obtain necessary information when taking reservations
  • Be familiar with Avion Hospitality policies and hospitality terminology
  • Assist in emergency procedures when required
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs courteously and efficiently
  • Operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system
  • Ensure logging and delivery of packages, mail and messages
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette
  • Deliver guest items like luggage, newspapers, packages, and amenities as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property amenities, special events, and local attractions
  • Perform other duties as assigned including helping coworkers and maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel and grounds
