Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to understand requests, respond with appropriate action, and provide accurate information such as outlet hours and local attractions
  • Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming number of guests and room rate, making appropriate room selections, coding electronic keys, and providing welcome folders
  • Verify and accurately imprint credit cards for authorization, handle cash and balance an assigned house bank, accept multiple forms of payment, perform arithmetic functions, and post charges to guest rooms
  • Promptly answer the telephone, input messages, retrieve and communicate messages to guests, and manage mail and packages
  • Close guest accounts at check out and ascertain satisfaction, negotiate compromises as needed including authorizing revenue allowances
  • Remain calm and alert during emergencies or heavy hotel activity, resolve complications such as location changes or credit issues
  • Field guest complaints, conduct thorough research to develop effective solutions and negotiate results
  • Work varying schedules as needed
  • Summon bell staff to escort guests
  • Provide safe deposit box services
  • Maintain familiarity with property functions and outlet operations to market property to guests positively
  • Assist PBX operators or reservations agents as assigned
