UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge is a distinguished meeting and retreat venue situated in the scenic San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. Nestled on the tranquil shores of Lake Arrowhead, this 50-acre lodge offers a peaceful and inspiring setting ideal for groups seeking a unique getaway experience. Job Requirements

  • Must possess upon hire and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be available to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to drive University vehicles
  • Completion of satisfactory background investigation and Live Scan background check
  • Completion of satisfactory pre-placement physical examination
  • Subject to California DMV Pull Notice System with satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to comply with safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Experience working in fast-paced food service environment

Job Qualifications

  • 6-12 months experience as a food server in a restaurant, casual or fine dining setting
  • Ability to engage with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner
  • Ability to remain calm in the face of adversity, such as customer dissatisfaction
  • Ability to sufficiently communicate in written and verbal English
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workload
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare beverages and complete single-step food preparation tasks
  • Ability to comply with safety and sanitation standards and procedures
  • Math skills sufficient to properly adhere to production and customer payment transactions
  • Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume, public setting
  • Working knowledge of basic culinary techniques, terminology, and practices (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and spirits (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Provide courteous and gracious service to guests
  • Serve as wait staff including taking and delivering food and beverage orders
  • Attend buffet stations and ensure food items are replenished and presented attractively
  • Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly to guests
  • Make recommendations and answer questions about beverages and menu items
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation standards and procedures
