Job Requirements

  • Paid or unpaid experience in food service work
  • graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • some work experience
  • ability to lift minimum of 25 pounds
  • willingness to work weekends and holidays
  • flexibility to work extended or unusual hours
  • passing fingerprint criminal background check
  • pre-employment drug screening
  • registry checks including Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • males between 18 to 25 must register with Selective Service

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • six months experience in food service work preferred
  • ability to speak and read English
  • skill in operation and sanitizing of food service equipment
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • ability to use basic math in cooking and preparation
  • ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • ability to work in hot and cold conditions
  • ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and residents

Job Duties

  • Attend work on a regular basis
  • work scheduled and rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • assist in preparation and portioning of food for special diets
  • prepare scheduled snacks and maintain snack supplies
  • distribute and serve food safely and sanitarily
  • follow food handling procedures according to federal, state, and HACCP guidelines
  • receive delivery of food and supplies and prepare related paperwork
  • perform sanitation and cleaning of kitchen, stockroom, and food preparation areas
  • train or assist in training new food service employees
  • participate in disaster response and COOP activations as required
