Job Requirements
- Ability to read and write equivalent to a 10th grade educational level
- Regular and predictable attendance

- Ability to perform moderate physical work including lifting 40-60 lbs

- Physical capability to work in hot and cold kitchen environments

Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and write equivalent to a 10th grade educational level
- Ability to multi-task and service customers under any conditions
- Follow HACCP guidelines for safe and sanitary food handling
- Practice standard sanitation procedures for kitchen and equipment care
- Learn standard school Food and Nutrition Service operations
- Gather necessary menu items and supplies by reading recipes
- Work within a team environment under high pressure
- Communicate effectively in English in written and spoken formats
- Comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
- Provide teamwork and cooperative work under deadlines
- Perform work requiring moderate physical effort and continuous standing
- Knowledge and use of culturally responsive practices
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Familiarity with FCPS policies, goals and programs preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year previous experience in food service preferred
Job Duties
- Begin and complete assigned daily tasks reliably and on time
- Handle, prepare, and serve food as instructed
- Operate food service equipment, including dish washing machine, preparation and serving equipment, cleaning and sanitizing as instructed
- Comply with federal, state and Frederick County Public School policies and regulations
- Follow dress code and hygiene requirements
- Communicate effectively to students, staff and other FCPS employees displaying good customer service skills
- Perform duties with knowledge of Food Safety and Sanitation Regulations including HACCP
- Perform cash accountability tasks including operation of computer cash register, record keeping, inventory, and accurate control and accounting of money and meals sold
- Responsible for accurate accountability of inventory, food prepared, food shipped, food used, leftover and waste
- Read and follow recipes for consistent food quality
- Responsible for correct portion sizes
- Effectively utilize timeclock for accurate payroll
- May be moved to another school in the region per Specialist's direction
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
