Job Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Subject to background/security investigation
- Pre-employment physical required
- Completion of online onboarding process with acceptable identification
- Ability to serve a 1-year probationary period
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 20 pounds unassisted and up to 40 pounds with assistance
- Availability to work part-time (20 hours) including rotating weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Experience or training demonstrating knowledge, skills and ability to perform assigned food service duties
- Ability to follow established procedures and work sequences
- Skill in operating dishwashers and food service equipment
- Good physical stamina to stand, walk, lift and bend repeatedly
- Ability to communicate effectively and deliver trays to patients
- Commitment to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
- U.S. citizenship
Job Duties
- Clean serving areas by sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning/sanitizing work surfaces, and other food service equipment, such as refrigerators, toaster, and coffee machines
- Clean production equipment including steam jacketed kettles, tilt skillets, etc. using appropriate and safe sanitation techniques
- Load and operate dishwashers and cart washing station
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance on equipment
- Transport tray carts to wards and individually deliver trays directly to the patient's bedside or assist patients with transport of their meal trays
- Set-up serving areas with hot and cold foods, keeping foods appropriately stocked during meal service
- Identify discrepancies between the prescribed diet and/or listed food allergies and the food items listed on the tray ticket
- Assemble a variety of items while working in cold food preparation and nourishment area
- Make cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients
- Perform other duties as assigned
