The Food Services Department of the District is dedicated to providing nutritious and well-balanced meals to students and staff throughout the school year. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food service operations and supervision
  • Knowledge of USDA and state meal program requirements
  • Familiarity with HACCP and health department regulations
  • Ability to train and evaluate staff
  • Proficient in inventory and budget management
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen and office equipment
  • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Willingness to work standing and walking for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch as needed
  • Valid driver’s license for work-related travel

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale food service management
  • Training in food safety and sanitation
  • Knowledge of menu planning and recipe development
  • Skilled in cost control and budget analysis
  • Proficient with point-of-sale and inventory software
  • Ability to coordinate catering and special events
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with special dietary requirements
  • Experience in community engagement and promotional activities

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning, organizing and coordinating day-to-day food service operations
  • Maintain records of food and supply inventories
  • Train, supervise and evaluate food service personnel
  • Develop and coordinate menus and recipes ensuring compliance with USDA standards
  • Manage large-scale catering programs, special events, and summer feeding
  • Establish and implement HACCP procedures
  • Monitor compliance with health department regulations
  • Utilize cost control procedures and manage department budget
  • Coordinate food service inventory protocols and assist with bidding process
  • Operate kitchen and office equipment including POS systems
  • Evaluate food and standardize recipes
  • Ensure accommodations for special dietary needs
  • Develop and monitor promotional activities
  • Represent the department and liaise with community and staff
  • Collect documentation and prepare reports
  • Perform related duties as assigned
