Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred but not required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a physically demanding role
  • Food Handler’s Permit preferred
  • Ability to lift, bend, pull, push, and twist
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety procedures
  • Flexibility to work during school calendar including some overtime and Saturdays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred but not required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a physically active role requiring being on feet for extended periods
  • Food Handler’s Permit (city or county) preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow food recipes
  • Basic math skills for portioning food
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team setting
  • Physical capability to lift, bend, pull, push, and twist

Job Duties

  • Prepare appropriate quantities of food based on recipes and guidelines
  • Cut and chop fruits and vegetables
  • Monitor students during meal periods for appropriate behavior and encourage healthy eating habits
  • Adhere to established kitchen processes and food safety practices
  • Clean kitchen area including sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, and trash disposal
  • Operate kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils safely
  • Collaborate with team members and adapt to changing tasks quickly
