Job Requirements

  • Hold a high school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess a valid US driver's license
  • Have four years of food preparation, baking, or professional kitchen food production experience
  • Be adaptable to flexible work schedules including early mornings, late nights, and weekends
  • Be able to pass ServSafe Manager examination
  • Be able to pass AllerTrain certification within three months of hire
  • Demonstrate ability to perform industrial batch cooking and cooking techniques
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and ability to coach others
  • Show capacity to multi-task, take initiative, plan, organize, and work effectively in teams
  • Be dependable, accountable, flexible, and able to delegate authority responsibly
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, lift and move up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, stand, walk, reach, and stoop extensively
  • Possess knowledge of sanitation requirements
  • Have computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, order processing, and email

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of experience in food preparation, baking, or food production in a professional kitchen or related environment
  • Strong communication skills with ability to coach and teach others
  • Ability to pass the ServSafe Manager examination
  • Ability to pass AllerTrain certification within three months of hire
  • Experience with industrial batch cooking and food assembly is helpful
  • Previous supervisory experience, particularly with student staff, is beneficial
  • Competency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, order processing, and email

Job Duties

  • Supervise and coach student staff and full-time employees to ensure productivity and safety standards are met
  • Adapt to fluctuating business needs by rotating between multiple "quick bite" retail dining locations
  • Perform food preparation, industrial batch cooking, and line assembly to maintain service and product standards
  • Operate university vehicles to transport inventory as needed
  • Execute opening and closing duties for retail food outlets
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and food safety regulations including passing ServSafe and AllerTrain certifications
  • Plan, organize, and manage work tasks while promoting teamwork
