Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a cooking or food preparation role
- valid food safety certification
- ability to understand and follow food safety and sanitation protocols
- capability to use kitchen utensils and equipment safely and effectively
- strong communication skills
- physical stamina to perform various kitchen tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Experience in cooking or a comparable role
- confirmed grasp of the basic principles of food preparation and various cooking techniques
- knowledge of and compliance with food safety regulations including accurate food handling, cleanliness, and storage procedures
- food safety certification
- proficiency in basic math operations and numerical counting
- excellent interpersonal communication skills including written and verbal communication
- physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
- properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- ensures security of company assets
