- 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
- comprehensive understanding of food service industry practices
- skilled at leading teams and addressing challenges in a dynamic kitchen environment
- excellent communication skills including speaking, reading, and writing
- ability to mentor and develop junior staff
- knowledge of health and safety regulations
Job Duties
- Coordinate and supervise culinary tasks while training and managing kitchen staff
- Monitor daily kitchen operations to facilitate smooth service delivery and uphold quality standards
- Gauge anticipated food consumption to requisition or obtain required food items
- Develop menu options and standardize production protocols to ensure quality
- Establish presentation techniques, quality standards, and price menus
- Maintain and operate kitchen equipment correctly to safeguard performance
- Uphold health and safety regulations by maintaining sanitation and safety standards
- Oversee special catering events and provide culinary guidance
- Assist in the development of junior culinary staff through expertise sharing and mentoring
