Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in food and beverage management
  • Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if applicable
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to handle cash accurately
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance
  • Ability to maintain safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a management capacity in a high volume fast-paced restaurant or catering environment
  • 3-5 years of previous experience leading food and beverage programs and teams
  • Capable of operating Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to supervise the work of others
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions related to POS cash and credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory
  • 2 year degree in Business Management or Hospitality preferred

Job Duties

  • Overall management of catering and concessions food and beverage operations including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, ordering, inventory, labor costs and equipment maintenance
  • Responsible for overseeing the serving of meals to guests or directing guests to the buffet line
  • Responsible for overseeing serving beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages and verifying minimum age requirement
  • Responsible for observing guests to respond to additional requests and determine when the meal has been completed
  • Responsible for executing all directives stated in all banquet event orders
  • Responsible for completion and updating of administrative paperwork associated with events including diagrams, timelines and side-work assignments
  • Responsible for ensuring tableware and linens are replaced as necessary
  • Be able to identify ingredients or explain how various items on the menu are prepared
  • Assists in setting up banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware
  • Responsible for maintaining sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Shows demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
  • Ensures location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event
  • Recognizes visibly intoxicated guests and takes action to cut off alcohol serving
  • Leads food and beverage team with projects including training, inventory and special events
  • Leads concessions department in supervising outlets when business demands
  • Enforces all Oak View Group policies and procedures
  • Practices excellent human resources skills including employee relations, corrective action, coaching and counseling
  • Ensures a safe and harassment-free work environment and immediately addresses safety concerns and hazards
  • Participates in fostering strong working relationships across all departments
  • Maintains professionalism in all written and verbal communication
  • Ensures that all food is of excellent quality and served timely
  • Monitors food preparation process to maintain quality, freshness, and food safety standards
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the General Manager
