Job Requirements

  • College degree preferably in hotel and/or restaurant management
  • 1-2 years restaurant management and/or supervisory experience
  • San Diego County Food Handler's Certification
  • Responsible Beverage Control Certification
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English
  • Knowledge of service and cost control in food and beverage
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Full-time commitment

  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English
  • College degree preferably in hotel and/or restaurant management
  • 1-2 years restaurant management and/or supervisory experience
  • 6 months food and beverage service experience
  • San Diego County Food Handler's Certification
  • Responsible Beverage Control Certification
  • Knowledge of service, cost control in food and beverage, labor controls, employee relations, maintenance and merchandising

Job Duties

  • Train restaurant staff for smooth operation
  • Supervise and discipline staff
  • Maintain a friendly yet unobtrusive manner with guests
  • Take reservations and assign seating per service standards
  • Ensure consistent service techniques across meal periods
  • Anticipate materials and supplies availability
  • Control usage of food, beverage items and equipment
  • Observe and recommend improvements for physical facilities and equipment
  • Assist in staff scheduling to control labor costs and overtime
  • Prepare daily and weekly payroll
  • Complete paperwork related to revenue and labor
  • Understand food and beverage offerings including ingredients and service
  • Maintain communication logs between staff and management
  • Participate in inventory operations
  • Support Food and Beverage team and assume responsibility in department head absence
