Job Requirements

  • Proof of liquor license or receipt of application by first day of employment
  • exceptional patience and public relations skills
  • ability to adhere to grooming and hygiene standards
  • ability to work under the supervision of Food and Beverage Manager
  • meet physical demands including walking and minimal lifting
  • knowledge of local area and amenities
  • ability to follow established procedures and guidelines
  • availability to work in a restaurant environment
  • non-exempt employment status

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to memorize guest names and recognize regular guests
  • knowledge of hospitality industry principles
  • understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • professional grooming and appearance
  • ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • ability to provide courteous and effective guest service
  • familiarity with reservation systems is a plus

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests and customers graciously and professionally
  • minimize confusion and disorderliness in guest seating and service sequence
  • enforce chronological reception and seating of guests
  • ensure tables and dining areas are properly arranged and cleaned
  • revisit tables to ensure appropriate waiter/waitress service
  • coordinate reservations accurately
  • provide guests with information about the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, property amenities, and activities
  • ensure waitstaff are courteous and professional
  • project a positive and friendly attitude
  • open doors for guests when possible
  • manage waitlists and call guests when tables become available
  • provide estimated waiting times to guests
  • accommodate special seating requests
  • seat guests based on preferences and balance customer flow
  • offer menus and introduce servers upon seating
  • inspect table presentation
  • relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed
  • thank guests and invite them to return
  • perform additional duties as assigned by management
