Job Requirements

  • Experience selling capital equipment or automated machinery for at least three years
  • familiarity with food processing and packaging equipment highly preferred
  • aggressive and enthusiastic sales approach
  • self-motivated and determined with strong attention to detail
  • excellent multitasking and prioritization skills
  • effective communication skills across all organizational levels
  • ability to travel overnight extensively within the assigned territory
  • preferred residence in Northern Chicago, IL or Greater Milwaukee, WI
  • physical ability to perform job demands
  • ability to adapt to work environments with conditions such as intense heat, extreme cold, strong odors, and slippery floors

Job Qualifications

  • Three plus years of experience selling capital equipment or automated machinery
  • proven track record of success in sales
  • experience in food processing or food packaging capital equipment preferred
  • ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • strong communication skills with all organizational levels
  • willingness to engage in overnight travel of 50-70 percent
  • undergraduate degree preferred but not required
  • demonstrated ability to maintain positive customer relationships
  • capability to collaborate with service teams for customer support

Job Duties

  • Work closely with the Field Sales Manager and Regional Sales Vice President on sales orders, sales generation, and sales planning
  • sell capital equipment or machinery preferably in food processing and packaging industry
  • professionally represent products to new and existing customers
  • emphasize selling equipment with an added service component and collaborate with the service team
  • communicate effectively with personnel at all levels from shop floor workers to company presidents
  • build sales pipelines through cold-calling, networking, and maintaining positive internal and external relationships
  • share best sales practices with the team
  • participate actively in sales industry associations
  • ensure sales documentation and reports are accurate and submitted on time
  • facilitate quotations, product samples, and deliveries
  • collaborate with the field service team to ensure full customer satisfaction
