Job Requirements
- must be able to stand walk bend crouch kneel and reach for long periods of time
- must be able to lift carry push and pull up to 40 lbs
- must be able to safely operate kitchen equipment and tools
Job Qualifications
- previous experience as a prep cook in a high-volume environment
- basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
- must be available to work weekends and holidays
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking including chopping slicing dicing and marinating following recipes and portion guidelines
- follow established portion control procedures to minimize food waste
- organize and stock ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth workflow during meal service
- notify the chef or manager of any shortages or discrepancies
- maintain a high degree of standards in cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas including equipment countertops and storage areas following food safety regulations
- follow proper food handling procedures to minimize waste and ensure food quality and freshness
- assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels rotating ingredients labeling prep items receiving supplies and notifying the chef or manager of any shortages or discrepancies
- follow all safety procedures
- collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and workflow
- assist with opening and closing procedures
- assist with dishwashing duties as needed
- other duties as assigned
