Job Requirements
- Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling
- Routine standing for duration of shift
- Ability to safely maneuver equipment including hand carts, blenders, knives, slicers, and wine keys
- Scheduled shifts based on business needs
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in culinary leadership or kitchen management
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to mentor and develop team members
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Familiarity with current food trends and menu development
- Ability to work collaboratively with management and corporate teams
Job Duties
- Develop and promote learning and nurturing environment for all restaurant team members focusing on cooking techniques, knife skills, time management, and accountability
- Maintain appropriate staff levels based on projected sales and business needs
- Cultivate an environment of open and authentic dialogue with restaurant team, senior team, and home office partners
- Practice proactive performance management in partnership with General Manager and HR to ensure adherence to employment policies
- Stay up-to-date with current food trends through research and vendor partnerships
- Assist Executive Chef with daily, weekly, and monthly specials and menu development
- Minimize employee turnover rates by hiring qualified people, orienting new employees, setting clear performance expectations, training, coaching, and providing feedback
- Facilitate implementation of company learning and training programs and monitor performance to ensure skill transfer
- Manage kitchen financial expectations including food cost, efficiencies, labor costs, and expenses
