Job Requirements

  • Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling
  • Routine standing for duration of shift
  • Ability to safely maneuver equipment including hand carts, blenders, knives, slicers, and wine keys
  • Scheduled shifts based on business needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in culinary leadership or kitchen management
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Familiarity with current food trends and menu development
  • Ability to work collaboratively with management and corporate teams

Job Duties

  • Develop and promote learning and nurturing environment for all restaurant team members focusing on cooking techniques, knife skills, time management, and accountability
  • Maintain appropriate staff levels based on projected sales and business needs
  • Cultivate an environment of open and authentic dialogue with restaurant team, senior team, and home office partners
  • Practice proactive performance management in partnership with General Manager and HR to ensure adherence to employment policies
  • Stay up-to-date with current food trends through research and vendor partnerships
  • Assist Executive Chef with daily, weekly, and monthly specials and menu development
  • Minimize employee turnover rates by hiring qualified people, orienting new employees, setting clear performance expectations, training, coaching, and providing feedback
  • Facilitate implementation of company learning and training programs and monitor performance to ensure skill transfer
  • Manage kitchen financial expectations including food cost, efficiencies, labor costs, and expenses
