Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two to four years of supervisory or managerial kitchen experience in a high-volume environment
- Ability to carry or lift items up to 75 pounds
- Ability to move safely about the kitchen
- Effective and safe handling of food, products, and utensils
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel
- Ability to withstand temperature variations in the work area
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Culinary arts courses, certifications, or related degree preferred
- Two to four years of experience supervising or managing kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen
- Confidence in cooking skills and abilities
- Attention to detail
- Good people management, communication, and listening skills
- Proven ability to lead a team and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Flexibility and adaptability to change
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Internally motivated with a passion for teaching

Job Duties
- Control the day-to-day culinary operations within company policies and guidelines
- Maintain professional company image including kitchen cleanliness and appearance standards
- Maintain updated and accurate costing and documentation of all dishes
- Establish procedures for conducting inventory and determine stock levels
- Ensure proper security, storage, and timely replenishment of food and beverage products and equipment
- Maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness in compliance with health department requirements
- Resolve employee conflicts, customer issues, and wrong stock orders promptly
- Rally staff during heavy shifts and ensure high-quality consistent product and service standards
- Control back-of-house food costs through ordering, inventory management, and financial review
- Communicate standards and cooking methods clearly to staff and interact with guests
- Ensure a safe working environment and maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness
- Create and manage work schedules, shipments, and cleaning routines
- Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, discipline, and train team members
- Lead by example and mentor new staff
