Job Requirements
- minimum 2-3 years experience as lead sous chef or executive chef
- culinary degree preferred
- ability to read and interpret documents in English
- proficient in kitchen management software such as GHC App
- capable of supervising staff and managing schedules
- strong knowledge of health and safety standards
- ability to work 40-45 hours per week including special events
- physical ability to receive and inspect deliveries
- willingness to transfer to other worksites as needed
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years lead sous or executive chef experience and/or culinary degree preferred
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English
- strong knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food preparation standards
- excellent menu planning and recipe development skills
- proficiency in staff training and management
- good communication and organizational skills
- ability to manage budgets and handle purchasing
- problem sensitivity and manual dexterity
- ability to maintain professional appearance
Job Duties
- Ensures overall health of the account is positive and in good standing
- plans and directs food preparation and culinary activities
- modifies menus or creates new ones that meet quality standards
- assists in recruiting and managing kitchen staff
- manages employee's schedules and hours
- manages the GHC App
- ensures the overall cleanliness of the kitchen meets and exceeds GHC health and equipment cleaning standards
- makes periodic inspections of units to observe quality of food preparation and service, food appearance, and cleanliness and sanitation
- coordinates all training activities for kitchen and other employees
- develops recipes and portion specifications according to standards
- creates and submits menu two weeks ahead for approval
- submits budget on the GHC App weekly
- schedules and attends food committee reviews monthly
- maintains a pleasant appearance and clean chef coat
- receives trucks and checks for quantity and quality
- plans special events in accordance with house specifications
- maintains positive relationships with vendors, directs, and clients
- implements account-specific service procedures
- monitors scheduling and time management of staff
- transfers to other worksites as needed
- performs other duties as assigned
