Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with 8 years related work experience
  • A 2 year culinary degree or 4 year hospitality degree with four or more years of related work experience
  • Valid ServSafe certification
  • Must comply with any dress code requirements
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Must be able to type twenty words per minute

Job Qualifications

  • A 2 year culinary degree or 4 year hospitality degree with four or more years of related work experience
  • Strong background in operations management and team development
  • Proven customer satisfaction skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Advanced culinary and knife skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively
  • Experience with production software and inventory management
  • Leadership skills including motivating and developing staff
  • Knowledge of sanitation and regulatory safety standards
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and meetings
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and deliver creative solutions

Job Duties

  • Assure proper sanitation practices and provide trainings
  • Assure smooth kitchen operation by coordinating with food and beverage departments
  • Control food costs by maintaining accurate ingredient records
  • Work with leadership to understand financial data and drive resident satisfaction
  • Meet with Resident Food Council to create and implement menus
  • Collaborate with Corporate Chef to develop specials and costing strategies
  • Supervise cooks and oversee all kitchen functions
  • Ensure standards for food preparation, plating and presentation
  • Orient and train employees on job responsibilities
  • Lead daily and weekly staff meetings
  • Provide recipes and ensure compliance
  • Review BEO’s and assign duties accordingly
  • Prioritize work and conduct performance reviews
  • Recommend procedural or production changes
  • Prepare food and serve customers at a la carte stations
  • Operate kitchen equipment for ingredient preparation
  • Taste products, estimate food requirements and keep production records
  • Report accidents promptly
  • Produce batch goods using advanced cooking techniques
  • Manage inventory and special diet meal preparation
  • Enter menu data into production systems
  • Train staff on production systems and software
  • Demonstrate advanced knife skills
  • Take weekly inventory and enter data
  • Perform other assigned duties
