Job Requirements
- Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Must have SS-Serve Save Certification
- Certified Dietary Manager required
- Minimum five years of recent relevant experience
- Ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
- Skilled in all phases of culinary activity
- Knowledge of food production and delivery processes
- Proficient in customer service
- Experienced in marketing and promotion
- Competent with Microsoft Office and food service software
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with HACCP guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent education or experience
- Chef certification or formal culinary training acceptable
- SS-Serve Save Certification
- Certified Dietary Manager
- Five years of recent relevant experience
- Ability to lead and motivate staff
- Ability to instruct in all phases of culinary activity
- Strong customer service skills
- Marketing and promotion skills
- Shared profit and loss responsibility
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office and food service applications such as CBORD Food Service Suite and Micros
- Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Job Duties
- Provide overall management and direction to food production and storage operations
- Lead and support staff in planning, organizing, staffing, and controlling daily food production functions
- Participate in planning and standardizing programmatic and operational changes
- Implement cost-saving initiatives
- Hire, schedule, and evaluate staff under direct supervision
- Perform sanitation, safety, quality, and security checks to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
- Monitor and supervise all food service areas in the absence of higher management
- Collaborate with other managers and supervisors in planning special functions and menus for cafeterias, catering, and patient meal service
