Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a supervisory role
- Ability to lead and train kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Experience in kitchen supervision or management
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to analyze recipes and control food costs
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with nutrition and sanitation standards in a food service environment
Job Duties
- Plans or participates in planning menus and utilization of food surpluses and leftovers
- Estimates food consumption and purchases or requisitions foodstuffs and kitchen supplies
- Reviews menus, analyzes recipes, determines food, labor, and overhead costs, and assigns prices to menu items
- Directs food apportionment policy to control costs
- Supervises cooking and other kitchen personnel and coordinates their assignments to ensure economical and timely food production
- Observes methods of food preparation and cooking, sizes of portions, and garnishing of foods to ensure food is prepared in prescribed manner
- Tests cooked foods by tasting and smelling them
