Job Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in culinary arts or related field
  • at least 5 years of management or supervisory experience in culinary or food service
  • certified in Serve Safe Management
  • strong team leadership, delegation, and coaching skills
  • excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • commitment to food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary arts school or four-year university degree
  • brand certification a plus
  • minimum of 5 years managerial or supervisory experience in culinary or food service
  • Serve Safe Management certification
  • demonstrated team management and delegation skills
  • issue resolution and coaching abilities
  • strong motivation and change agent capabilities
  • effective organization and multi-project time and issue management
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • ability to comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents
  • comfortable conversing with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Job Duties

  • Supervises the day to day activities of culinary supervisory staff
  • works with restaurant partners on menus and menu items ensuring proper and timely preparation in airport kitchens
  • ensures integrity of all aspects of food including taste, temperature, presentation, and speed of production
  • promotes safety and sanitation, oversees inspection of product handling, establishes and maintains safe practices, and follows HACCP procedures
  • oversees the commissary and serves as a primary contact with food vendors
  • prices and orders food and kitchen supplies
  • maintains effective cost control by managing the food management inventory system
  • complies with company and franchise standards of operation procedures and applicable regulatory agencies
  • ensures all products are prepared and presented according to brand or company standards
  • identifies hiring, firing, advancement, development, and promotion of culinary management staff
  • maintains effective communication and positive associate relations by performing activities such as performance reviews, progressive discipline, resolving associate relations issues, managing incentive programs, and executing management and associate development programs
  • provides the highest quality of customer service by ensuring proper staff training and supporting associates to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality
